Former Bravo star Hannah Berner recently made headlines after Kyle Cooke referenced their infamous feud on a Season 9 episode of Summer House. The two had a falling out in Season 5, which resulted in Hannah leaving the show. Their feud also affected Kyle’s wife, Amanda Batula, who chose to side with her partner, severing her friendship with Hannah. It’s been years since the drama went down but Hannah and Amanda were never able to repair their friendship.

Hannah Berner and Amanda Batula used to be close friends
Hannah and Amanda are currently not on speaking terms but they were once good friends. Amanda was delighted when Hannah and Paige DeSorbo joined the Summer House cast in Season 3. Being a few years younger than the OG cast, she was thrilled to have women around her age. The three women formed a tight bond in their first couple of summers together, describing themselves as “sister wives” at one point. Viewers were shocked to see the friendship crumble considering how close they once were.
Why Hannah Berner and Amanda Batula’s friendship ended
Hannah and Amanda’s friendship took a turn for the worse in Season 5. Tension first arose because Amanda and Paige were concerned about Hannah’s budding romance with Luke Gulbranson. Hannah got defensive and dismissed their concerns, which upset Amanda. She felt there was a double standard where Hannah felt free to criticize her relationship with Kyle but didn’t let her voice her opinion about Luke.
As the summer dragged on, Amanda and Hannah continued to butt heads over the Luke situation. The tension escalated when Kyle got involved and called out Hannah for making comments about his relationship. The confrontation led to a big fight that ended with Amanda throwing a wine glass at Hannah. Yikes. After that, The friendship began to deteriorate with Hannah stating she and Amanda were no longer friends.
The final straw for Amanda and Kyle seemed to be when Hannah joked about having sex with her boyfriend in their bathroom. However, Hannah provided more context during a July 2024 appearance on the Barstool podcast BFFs. She told the hosts that the fallout stemmed from a business deal.
“The truth is beef started ’cause I did an ad for Truly Seltzer. I didn’t know that I, like, wasn’t allowed to,” she said. “I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to drink other drinks.”
Kyle is the founder and CEO of the beverage company Loverboy and according to Hannah, he didn’t like that she worked with his competitor.
Can Hannah Berner and Amanda Batula be friends again?
Hannah and Amanda are still at odds but there is hope for a resolution. During a March 2025 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Amanda told host Andy Cohen she is open to making amends with her former friend.
“I’m open to it, but also she’s living her life, she’s doing her thing this whole thing is a thing of her past, so I respect whatever decision she makes,” she said.
It’s possible the two will reconsider after seeing how their fallout has affected their mutual friends. Ciara Miller, who was sitting next to Amanda on WWHL, shared her thoughts on the ongoing feud, telling Andy she is praying the two work it out. Paige also voiced her thoughts on a Season 9 episode of Summer House, detailing how the feud has affected her. She explained that she feels caught in the middle of her two friends. She got emotional thinking about future life events and wondered if they would be able to be in the same room together.
