welcome back, Below Deck Mediterranean Fans! Last week ended on a dramatic note, showing Nathan in a Sprinter van ready for battle, looking forward to taking on Joe. Elsewhere, Kat finally snaps at the General. So did Ayesha, but by “snapping” we mean that both women handled things professionally, yet firmly. Q Jenn is trying a new approach this week on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 17.
What happened in Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 17?
Macy eventually shows his cards and tells Joey how he feels. Jane does too. But his words always come with an agenda. Meanwhile, after an entire season of insecurities and criticisms, matters between Nathan and Joe have reached the point of no return, leaving everyone, including Captain Sandy, completely frustrated.
The general initiated a plan
The cameras never show Nathan’s reaction to Joe’s “will you kill me” question from last week. Interesting, no? Instead, we see Gail admit her mistakes, and want Joe to admit his mistakes too.
However, Joe cannot utter a word and finds it “hilarious”. In his confessional, Nathan berates Joe for not telling the truth. As for Joe, he felt betrayed.
Back on the ship, two of my favorite comedy stars of Season 11 enter the chat. Joey wonders why they can’t find peaceful things. Aunt replies, “Because good things are boring, dear.”
Gail and Nathan relieve Ayesha of her baby-sitting duties. Nathan returns to the boat with Ayesha. During the ride, Nathan wonders why Joe holds a grudge against Gail. Ayesha thinks, “Because he broke the bromance.”
When Joe was thirteen, his abusive father said, “Yeah, you’re not my son.” That was the last time he heard from her. That experience sucked. But it also taught Joe that aggressive reactions are more useless, he tells Kaylee.
The next morning, the crew prepares for their final charter. The General finds Joey and admires his ad, leading Joey to wonder if the General was “possessed by a zombie.” But no one. Jane is just being “a fake bitch, because if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”
It’s time for the final preference sheet meeting! Billionaire Tristan, his fiancé Melvin, his five boyfriends, and his best friend, Corey, are all arriving on the ship. They like to stay up and sleep late, so this can be a long but fun charter.
But first, General has to compliment Kaylee, which leaves Kaylee just as surprised as Joey. They embrace. Captain Sandy urges his crew (namely Nathan and Joe) to let things go, and then his guests finally arrive on board.
Joe tries to make peace with Nathan
Joey chews a piece of raw beef, looking dazed, and Ayesha thinks about being a sugar baby in another life. Downstairs, the General attracts guests, and Nathan asks Joe to do something. Joe stands up and checks his heartbeat, which Captain Sandy sees. She questions Joe while Nathan watches with wide eyes.
Thankfully, the guests love everything Joey creates. But for dinner they want more protein. Joey Googles, “How many grams of protein a day (for an intense gym guy)?”
Tomorrow marks Captain Sandy’s 36th year of sobriety. We love that for her, but when she comes back out, she hears something she doesn’t like: lots of awkward silences between Jo and Nathan. She encourages Jo with what she learned during her recovery: that she needs to talk to Nathan and get things off her chest. Joe agrees that he may indeed have a point.
But, speaking of weird, Cooper and Kat live on different pages in two completely different books. Kat wants more, but Cooper wants his freedom. This will probably end badly.
The guests sit down to dinner. Around the corner, Joe and Nathan finally sit down together to clear the air. Joe says Joe isn’t turning people against Nathan. Instead, he’s telling people that things are different now, and he misses his friend.
Nathan is in a different place as a father now, he says, which Joe understands. They clap and Joe goes to bed. It all sounds great, but in his talking head, Nathan reacts completely differently. He calls Joe’s words “f*cking b*llsh*t” and says he is jealous of the life Joe has built with Gail.
Two injuries and a glimpse of the drama that is still ahead
Joey spread the little chicken he had left on a tray of sandwiches the night before before going to bed. This was a smart plan, because at around 3 o’clock, the guests were starving. They are also hungry to include Joe in their polyamorous relationship, but Joe skillfully mocks them and runs off with their dishes.
Turns out, it still wasn’t enough protein. And even in the morning they are not happy. They want “gay rights and more protein” moving forward. Hopefully, the provisions will arrive soon.
The guests are completely satisfied with it Meat However, Cooper and Joe pack their raft party. Wearing Speedos provided by their guests, Cooper and Joe make the best of it, absolutely loving every second, until Joe dives over a rock and hits his forehead. He deals with it, and everyone returns to the yacht.
Ayesha gives Captain Sandy a necklace to honor her 36th year of sobriety. Becoming emotional, Captain Sandy talks about her journey. Ayesha also cries because she grew up with an alcoholic mother, who thankfully has been sober for ten years now. Oh, pass every tissue.
Outside, one of the guests, Vitor, hits his head while jumping on a waterslide. Blood flows from his forehead. Captain Sandy calls for a medic, and the same hot doctor from last week answers. Gen hysterically breaks the fourth wall and gives the camera her best “yessss” face.
Soon his face will change. Luke is coming back to surprise Joey during the final night of crew next week. “Your secret is safe with me,” Joe promises.
