Forum members review Matthew Blazey’s Chanel Spring 2027 collection to celebrate one year as Creative Director

On the eighth day of Paris Fashion Week, Mathieu Blazy unveiled his first anniversary ready-to-wear collection under the leadership of Chanel. Almost a full year later, the French-Belgian designer presents his highly anticipated debut. Fast forward twelve months and we are back at the historic Grand Palace. Staged during the evening in the French capital, guests including Nicole Kidman, Dua Lipa and Alexa Demi sat front row. The models (including Blazy favorites Anne Vyalitsyna and Stephanie Cavalli) soon emerged from backstage onto the massive set, which was decorated with a giant canopy of golden birds suspended overhead. With Britney Spears on the soundtrack, mannish tailcoats, sheer-paneled tweed jackets, shin-skimming coats glittering with deep red sequins were on good display.

“The nightmare continues…” (liberty33r1b)

“After that I need to wash my eyes with bleach.” (prilv)

“Virginie (Viard) has to laugh. The same obnoxious, stilted, inane stuff.” (caffeine)

“It was terrible. Such lavish sets for such ill-fitting, shabby clothes. Not a single look was good and those terrible prints.” (disco54)

“Some looks feel incomplete, and some feel too much. There’s no balance. I think with some styling adjustments, some would look good in the real world, but there’s no pretense.” (wild Rose)

“Looks the same as what his other channel shows me. There’s no identity between seasons.” (lots of horns)

“Already going around in circles. Same silhouette every show, and he just changes clothes. Throws some funky looks into the mix to ‘experiment’ and pretend it’s new.” (frenchie)

“My face has developed new wrinkles from stress while watching this show. I hate their work so much. They all look like 60s Christmas trees in Harrods. These are ornate sacks for sad rich women.” (Norden)
