Lisa Vanderpump’s nephew Sam explains why his condition puts him in a tough spot
Sam publicly announced his diagnosis in October 2025. The announcement came months after he suffered severe liver and kidney failure following sepsis in December 2024. Instagram In the post, he shared that he “lives with a genetic liver condition and polycystic kidney disease (PKD).”
“When I was first told I needed a transplant, they said I’d probably have a transplant in the next two years. I think we’re already a year behind, and luckily my health hasn’t deteriorated. But that’s the fear,” Sam said on the October 7 episode of Good Morning Britain.
The reality star, who dyed her hair pink to raise awareness about organ donation, said she has received an overwhelming response from fans. However, he clarified that getting a transplant is not that easy. Sam explained that organ donation follows a “certain process” that he cannot arrange himself.
He added, “So if anyone is interested in becoming a live donor for me, they will have to contact the hospital, King’s College Hospital, and go through that route themselves.” “So, it’s like you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. You want to go further up the list, but you don’t want your health to suffer.”
He continued to urge people to register as organ donors. Sam said everyone should consider donating their organs. They believe this could help reduce the number of people waiting for a transplant. “We really don’t need the 8,000 people on the transplant list waiting for organs,” he said.
