Vicki Gunvalson returned to real housewives of orange county For season 20. While fans expected her to make it to this historic season, Vicki has instead been labeled a “Debbie Downer.” Of course, she’s dealing with serious knee pain, so she deserves some grace for her medical issues.
In addition to being obsessed with her work and ignoring her RHOC co-stars, Vicki has also been making some rude comments. Generally, fans enjoy some drama on The Real Housewives.
However, when comments escalate to mom-shaming, a line is crossed. And “The OG of the OC” has overcome this hurdle repeatedly during Season 20.
Vicki Gunvalson needs to stop mom shaming her RHOC castmates
During RHOC Season 20 Episode 15, tensions rise between Vicki and Tamra Judge in Tokyo. Tamra was hurt by Vicki’s comments about her relationship with her estranged daughter, Sydney Barney. In 2024, Vicki went on her podcast and criticized Tamra as a mother.
And to make matters worse, Tamra claimed that Vicki never apologized to her. Emily Simpson said, “That’s the least mean thing you can say about another woman.” When Tamra finally asked Vicki about her mother-shaming comments, Vicki responded, “That was wrong. So, whatever I said, I’m sorry.”
An emotional Tamra replied, “You called me a terrible mother. You called me a mother who chose fame over her daughter.” Unfortunately for Vicki, Tamra brought up the topic again. Vicki’s decision to bare all the way during the car ride was a choice.
“Tamra has a sharp tongue and that’s what Sydney was talking about. I only know what Sydney said publicly,” Vicki said in a flashback to last night.
Naturally, Tamra pointed out that Vicki “keeps stalking people as a mom.” And, as usual, Vicki denied the allegation. She’ll probably want to watch Season 20, as she’s also repeatedly insulted Carmella Garcia’s parenting.
At one point, Vicki berated Carmella for leaving her 14-year-old daughter behind when she was sick. Mom shaming is never okay, and this behavior has tainted Vicki’s return to the series. As a mother, Vicki should know better than to insult someone’s parenting. And dragging co-stars’ children into the field doesn’t sit well with some viewers.
