RHOC season 20 failed, and these 3 housewives should be gone

fans expected real housewives of orange county Season 20 will be iconic. This season marked a major milestone for the franchise. The audience was hopeful that Season 20 would once again take up appointment on TV. Unfortunately, even the return of Vicki Gunvalson could not strengthen the series and the season became a failure.

Last season was bleak. With the exits of Katie Ginella and Gretchen Rossi, I was hoping for a lighter, fun ride for Season 20. And yes, there were plenty of fun and humorous moments, like Heather Dubrow speeding through the streets of Tokyo dressed as a lobster. However, there was not enough drama to keep the audience interested.

It’s time for rumors to become reality. Here are three RHOC housewives who should get promotions.

Why RHOC Season 20 Needs to Give More

While newbie Carmella Garcia delivered on the drama front, many RHOC vets failed to see it. Furthermore, the story was repetitive and lacked authenticity. Because expectations were so high, some viewers were disappointed with RHOC Season 20. The series needs a refresh, and that starts with who should wear the orange next season.

Vicki Gunvalson’s RHOC legacy is no longer enough

Vicky’s return should satisfy the audience’s desire to refresh old memories. With such an important season, I wanted to see Vicki having fun. Instead, viewers had the “Debbie Downer” version of Vicki.

When she was not working, she seemed disinterested in being a part of the show. Well, unless Vickie was embarrassing Carmella’s mom. Additionally, her relationship with her boyfriend Michael Smith was confusing. It was also a hot topic among his co-stars. Meanwhile, Vicky attempted to keep her romance private.

And there’s no point being on RHOC and expecting the women to stop talking about Michael. In fact, Michael did filming for the show, so how can Vicki demand that no one talk about him?

It felt as if the “OG of the OC” didn’t fully exist this season. Of course, Vicky was dealing with a painful knee injury. So it was understandable for him not to be flirtatious.

Sadly, I don’t expect Vicki to be in the next season either. I think it’s time for Vicki to take a break and return to her work email.

Emily Simpson isn’t bringing enough things to RHOC

Emily Simpson joined the RHOC cast in season 13. First, she was the sweet underdog juggling a complicated marriage with her husband, Shane Simpson. Season 20 fast forward, and her marital issues were still her main storyline.

Apart from this, Emily was also dealing with the health problems of her son Luke. I appreciate Emily discussing Luke’s medical struggles, including ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) and PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infection). Her sensitivity when discussing Luke touched the hearts of many viewers. Emily also discussed her wellness journey and new workout regime.

However, other than causing a stir this season and discussing her issues with Shane, Emily hasn’t brought much to the table. She continued to drive the story forward, as she has for many seasons.

During RHOC Season 20, Emily had a fight with Vicki during a trip to La Quinta. In fact, she left the trip early with Jennifer Pedranti. She also had a rare clash with her bestie Gina Kirschenheiter.

Still, it felt like Emily wasn’t bringing energy to the main character this season. Moving forward, she may be better suited for a part-time role.

Gina has come a long way. In Season 14 she had a DUI and became “California Sober”. After the divorce, she built a life for herself and her three children and became a real estate agent. Just don’t mention that Gina lived in a casita!

Her boyfriend Travis Mullen popped the question before RHOC Season 20. Now that Gina has some money, Heather and Tamra Judge question her spending habits.

Meanwhile, Gina and Travis debate whether to get married, since they have six children and are planning for their future. And Gina insisted on a prenup because she is protecting what she earned.

Aside from Gina’s suspicions about Carmella, her biggest contribution has been shaking up the case. Gina and Emily are both talented at spilling the tea and keeping the stories flowing. The point is not whether or not Gina will reveal a secret, but when.

Viewers have watched Gina shoot flames for years, and it’s just not interesting anymore. I think he should delegate his workload, or possibly move to a part-time role.

RHOC needs a reset before its next season

RHOC can keep the past alive with cast members like Heather, Tamra, and Shannon Beador. However, the series also needs new blood to create some friction within the friend group. Carmella has been an excellent contribution. If some other strong newcomers with fascinating backstories join the mix, RHOC could deliver a new season that will delight and satisfy viewers.
