Once again, reality fans are hearing some disturbing news. Chad Olinger, who appeared in all five seasons of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, has reportedly been charged with murder. This incident happened in Las Vegas jail.
Before his recent prison stay, Chad was part of the series that focused on his father, Duane Olinger’s, Utah ranch. The show premiered in 2021 and focused on the duo’s search for a treasure trove of gold, which they believed was buried somewhere on the estate. Now, Chad’s future is a mystery as he faces these latest charges.

according to a press release From the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, on December 26, 2025, corrections officers at the Clark County Detention Center “observed a male inmate lying unresponsive inside a cell.” This “inmate was apparently suffering from blunt force injuries. The second cellmate, identified as 41-year-old Chad Olinger, was taken into custody.”
Although officers “rendered aid to the victim,” the inmate “was pronounced dead.” Meanwhile, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department homicide investigators determined that “a physical altercation occurred between the victim and Olinger inside the cell. Olinger was re-booked for open murder.”

The former reality star was in jail for two charges related to his arrest on October 27. Chad was arrested in Nevada on charges of contempt of court and being a fugitive from another state.
Meanwhile, in November 2024, he was arrested for running a red light on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Reportedly, before he was caught he abandoned his bike and tried to escape on foot. And in February, he was arrested again for driving with an invalid license, with previous convictions.
