Joe Rogan Experience podcast host spreading measles information When it was discovered that the symptoms and immune patterns were actually those of chickenpox.

“It was an infection that everyone had when I was a kid and what happened was you’d get sick for a few days and then you’d be immune for life, and they were making it look like everyone was dying from measles,” Joe said in the clip. “Like, no, if you’re dying from measles, you’re sick. You’re already compromised, which is exactly what happened with COVID. Where over 90 percent of the people who died had more than 4 co-morbidities.”

Those reacting to the clip commented, “Maybe just maybe, people shouldn’t take medical advice from a person who doesn’t know the difference between chicken pox and measles. Just a thought.” While another listener responded, “Very fatal mistake @joerogan. I guess you’ll be doing a public correction? Measles ≠ chicken pox.”

It was chickenpox which was quite common when Joe was a child. Children remain sick with this disease for a few days, then they develop immunity.

Joe was born in 1967, a time when measles vaccines were widely distributed. It was no longer a disease that many people suffered from, because by that time, the disease was rare due to vaccines. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some people can suffer serious complications from measles. These include pneumonia and encephalitis, which is inflammation of the brain. In extreme cases, they may need to be hospitalized and may die.

Joe has yet to respond to the backlash over his viral video comments.
