former reality star Kristin Cavallari Revealed that her father Dennis and his ex-wife Nicole King had a nasty argument over the shooting of MTV’s Laguna Beach. The podcaster said the fallout started when her stepmother read the application packet.
Kristin was a lead actor in Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The reality show, which was based on the lives of wealthy high schoolers in a California county, ran on the network from 2004 to 2006.

The fashion designer provided details about the fight that took place on Tuesday, January 6 episode Her podcast, Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari. “I talked a lot about my stepmom in my (application) packet, and I talked about how I didn’t like her, and she was closer to my age than my dad, and which was, well, hi. I know I can’t judge it now, but at the time, I judged it,” she recalled. “And I actually, I talked about how much I disliked him.”
Kristin remembers snatching the application packet from Nicole’s hand while she was filling it out during a TV show casting. “Read it, obviously saw what I said about her, and she was distressed. Right. I get it. But she always had this hatred for MTV, this complete disdain.”
When Season 2 started and Kristin was debating whether to continue with the show, the debate became even more heated. “She actually threatened to leave when the second season of Laguna Beach was going on,” he said. “She told my dad that if I did a second season, she’d move out. And my dad said, ‘So move out.’ I saw a very bad fight between them.
Kristen continued, “Anyway – without going into too much detail about it – that’s why she always hated MTV, and I think she hated me because of it.”
