stellan skarsgård There was a lot to celebrate at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards. The Swedish actor and patriarch of the Skarsgård family received a Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Film Role for his role in Sentimental Values.
The now-Oscar frontrunner used his acceptance speech to emphasize the importance of the theatrical experience. “(Sentimental Value) is a small Norwegian film that doesn’t have money for advertising or anything that gets the world to see it like this,” he said. “Hopefully you’ll see it in the cinema, because they’re an extinct species now. In a cinema, where the lights go down and eventually you share the pulse with a few other people. It’s magic. Cinema should be seen in theatres.”

However, the ceremony did not end with wishing good luck to cinema. Sure enough, the veteran actor admitted that he fainted at the show’s after-party that evening.
talking with tmz On Monday, Stellan was asked about the previous evening’s big night. The 74-year-old man, wearing dark sunglasses, admitted, “I’m so tired!”
“I was very drunk last night,” Stallone said, laughing, to reporters and autograph seekers.
Stellan previously won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in 2020 for the HBO series Chernobyl. Norwegian film Sentimental Value, directed by Joachim Trier, was nominated for eight awards at Sunday’s ceremony. These included Best Motion Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay, all of which included wins for Stellan.
Although Sentimental Value won only one of the eight awards for which it was nominated, the film is expected to be one of the most recognized films at the upcoming Academy Awards nomination ceremony on January 22. With Stellan’s big win and rousing speech at the Globes, it feels like an inevitability.
