ASAP Rocky calls out Drake on new album Don’t Be Dumb
ASAP Rocky The song appears to be a dig at Drake over Rihanna and their long-running issues on Don’t Be Dumb. Continuing further, he mentioned “clones”. He raps, “N****s getting the BBL, lucky we ain’t embarrassed / Throwing shit in the name of Rocky, turn around and fake the game” (via Complex).
These lines refer to Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar’s famous 2024 beef. This includes a mention of Metro Boomin’s viral “BBL Drizzy”. Not only that, it also includes Kendrick Lamar referencing Drake’s alleged cosmetic surgery in his 2024 diss track “Euphoria.”
Rocky appears to have confirmed that he aimed these lines toward the Canadian rapper during the January 15 episode of John Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli’s podcast, Popcast. Rocky simply said, “I think we all know.”
Additionally, he briefly touched on the need to take a dig at his former rapper friend. Rocky shared, “I just started seeing people who started out as friends and then became enemies. It seemed like they were unhappy with you and, you know, started sending shots. And I think that’s what led to our misunderstanding, or whatever the case may be.”
The 37-year-old rapper appears to be referring to Drake’s song “Fear of Heights” from his 2023 album For All the Dogs. Fans are convinced the Canadian rapper took a dig at Rihanna because she used the word “anti” in the first few lines of the song. Notably, the Barbadian singer also named her eighth studio album Anti.
Not only this, but later in the song, Drake also criticized Rihanna’s partner Rocky. At the time, fans believed that the Canadian rapper was still sour over his broken relationship with the “Diamonds” singer.
However, later in the interview, Rocky changed his mind and refused to confirm if he took shots at Drake on his new album. The 37-year-old shrugged it off by saying, “It’s whoever feels like it’s about them.”
