In an interview with a UK radio show capital breakfastWhich was shared on YouTube on January 19, Stephen said that he lost his trophy after the ceremony. He recalled, “I had to go straight from LA to Madrid because I had to go to set the next day… It was weird, I had about three minutes to catch a plane.” “It’s a next level thing. As soon as I came out, there was a woman standing there with my name on it and she carried me down the stairs, threw me in a car and drove me across the airport (to the runway).”
Stephen said things were more complicated because of the stoppage in Atlanta. “I’m just thinking that my case is not going to be successful. I said, ‘Excuse me, dear? There’s no way I’m getting my suitcase on this plane if I’m in the car right now,’ and she said, ‘Oh no, don’t worry, we’ll take care of it,'” he explained. “And I said, ‘No, no, no, no, you don’t understand,’ and she said, ‘I promise you, I promise you.’ “Anyway, it didn’t land.”
The suitcase in Atlanta contained his socks, pants, suit, shoes and the Golden Globe trophy. He clarified, “No, I never left it! I kept it in my case. It’s heavy, I wasn’t going to carry it on me. But thankfully, thankfully, it comes out the next day. Two days later.”
Stephen now appears in season 2 of A Thousand Blows on Disney+, which premiered on January 9.
