John Mellencamp knows a thing or two about singing
This week, The Masked Singer’s Calla Lily character took off her mask. And downstairs was none other than Teddy. During her emotional farewell speech, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum shared how life-giving this new opportunity was. Basically, it gave her something fun and positive to focus on amid her cancer battle.
“Obviously, I’m not a singer by profession, and so that role was challenging for me,” Teddy began. “Also, I have lost a large portion of my memory since my brain surgery. So I was a little nervous. But I was excited to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something new, and it felt like it gave me a little life back,” she explained through tears.
Her father was also life-giving, thanks to his timely advice and constant care. As a singer, John has been there and done all the live performances. So, as Teddy said us weeklyJohn came under fire during his stint on The Masked Singer. And this is what he said.
“‘Just sing loud and proud, and if you don’t reach a note, you don’t reach a note, but as long as you’re giving it your all, that’s what matters. And so that’s what I was doing,'” Teddy recalled.
Teddy continued, “One time I was singing a song, I talked to him about it. I needed advice. He said, ‘Don’t go out there and try to think you’re a singer. Just go out there and sing the song like you would if you were singing along. Have fun.’
