Rosie stands by her decision to leave the US last year. In an interview with Chris Cuomo on the Sirius XM show Cuomo Mornings, she still felt “good” about moving forward. He said he has “no regrets at all” about the big move. She says she did what was necessary to save herself, her child and her mental state. Rosie has applied for Irish citizenship through descent.

To them, the United States is a very different place today. She says there is more balance in news in Ireland. Additionally, she says there is not the worship of celebrities there like in America and people in Ireland do not look for news stories as much.

Rosie’s feud with Trump is one of many controversies that have occurred in her long TV career. Years ago the hosts had a public spat with Elisabeth Hasselbeck during an episode of The View. In October, Rosie said that she believed this was done by the producers.

Last July, Trump said he was considering revoking Rosie’s citizenship. He said that he is a threat to humanity. At a Republican presidential debate in 2015, a reporter said the real estate mogul had called women pigs, dogs, sluts and disgusting animals. Donald responded, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”
