On Below Deck Down Under Season 4, Episode 3, Ben tearfully confesses what apparently happened. “I was supposed to be married last year,” he said, crying. “And I caught her – she was seeing a friend of mine for a very long time.”
Apparently, his assistant chef Alecia Harris deciding that she could no longer work with him was the final decision. “I’m more sensitive because everyone is letting me down,” he said. He also said that he had lost “faith in humanity”.

After dating for more than three years, the couple got engaged in 2023. His ex-fiancée Kiara Cabral has not spoken about their breakup.
“I pulled all my friends and family into this amazing love affair,” Ben shared at the time. “We are now proudly engaged, and I look forward to a life of love and laughter with my sweet Kiara.”
Sadly, in September 2024, Ben confirmed that his wedding had been called off. Since then he has removed all the pictures of Kiara from his Instagram account. He shared the “difficult” news with his fans, writing, “I am no longer married.”
He added, “We have decided to go our separate ways and I think it is the best decision for both of us.” “I would not like to discuss the reasons behind these decisions.”
After thanking her fans for their support, she added, “I’m excited to continue my culinary inspiration with my non-gaslit cooktop and trusty blowtorch. After all, no one deserves a troublesome flame. Cheers lovelies.”
