This week on Southern Charm Season 11 Episode 12 “Even Further South” the group is heading to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Shep hopes the trip will bring Austen and Craig closer together. Meanwhile, Sally and Charlie are drifting apart. And the dinner game predictably leads to chaos. What else happened on Southern Charm this week?

Venita tells Austen the good news

As Austen is packing for Mexico, Venita calls him to tell him that Madison is having his baby. Austen is very happy for her ex-girlfriend, and she also realizes that this is the way things were supposed to be. Madison has everything she wanted with Brett. And Austin realized that, since he’s not ready to settle down yet and isn’t sure he wants kids, he’ll never be able to give Madison what she wanted.

Venita insists on not telling the rest of the group, citing the trouble she has gotten into since Sally repeated the rumor about Molly. Austen hopes that Venita and Sally can fix things. But Venita says they need to be able to talk about things one-on-one, because Whitner interrupting last week didn’t help. Venita and Austen have similar ways of dealing with conflict.

Molly crushes her open mic

Molly is finally singing in public this week! Shep once again neglects to bring gifts. Venita sends Mauli flowers and an apology for the vagina fiasco. Austen doesn’t come, and Shep knows he’s going through it. She feels bad about Austen’s nightmarish birthday dinner. He suggests a group trip to Mexico, hoping it will bring Austen and Craig back together. Part of the journey will apparently involve some kind of spiritual healing.

Before the show, Shep chats with Molly’s parents. Rodrigo jokes if he knows about Molly and Shep’s relationship.

Once she gets over her nervousness, Molly comes on stage and sings. Her voice is beautiful! And she’s not bad at cowbell either! As Sally says, “She can do it all!” Rodrigo starts to cry, and says that this proves to Molly that she is a “boss bitch” who can overcome her anxiety.

Sally and Charlie’s tension reaches Mexico

Before the Puerto Vallarta trip, Charlie tells Sally that she missed Molly’s open mic because she had drinks with Craig. Sally feels she is losing her best friend as Charlie grows more distant. Usually when Charlie likes a boy, she tells Sally everything. Of course, it’s different when it’s Craig. Sally then accuses Craig of instructing Charlie not to say anything and says he is calculating. Charlie explains that this is why she doesn’t talk about it.

To make things even weirder, they’re sharing a room in Mexico! But Sally doesn’t plan on sleeping there… not if things go “according to plan.”

Once they reach the hotel, Shep dances vigorously with Venita. He and Austin joke that this is what Shep would like during sex. Shep got the master bedroom for the second year in a row. But he reminds Austin that he got the Master last year because he thought Sienna would be with him.

Shep accidentally finds Charlie’s luggage, hoping he would get hers so they could exchange. She says I’m sorry she doesn’t do that. Then Sally told him not to say sorry. Charlie tries to explain the situation, but Sally remains adamant. Shep says, “Okay life coach.” Charlie is at his “breaking point” due to Sally’s behavior. While the rest of the group is hanging out by the pool, Charlie confronts Sally about her sly comments about Craig. Sally insists that she is just being a best friend, warning Charlie. She even says, “I don’t understand how you can like Craig.” Once again, it’s interesting how Sally adopts into her friendship with Charlie exactly the same qualities that bothered her about Venita. At the pool, Shep tells Austin how weird Charlie and Sally’s dynamic is, that it’s “dominant on Sally’s part.”

Sally continues this with Austen, who she finds “cute”. But he admits it would be a slap in the face to Audrey. After all, Audrey did not like Sally because of her obvious attraction to Austen. Rodrigo tries to warn Sally that Austen doesn’t know what she wants yet. Sally tells the group that she heard Audrey would be “nonsense” about breaking up with Austen. Everyone is surprised by this. Audrey and Austen were together for over a year, she was not indifferent about the relationship ending for so long. Sally doesn’t say where she heard it from, but it sounds like it was Craig. When asked if she thinks Craig is lying, Sally doesn’t answer, as Charlie is next to her.

That night, Whitney hosted dinner at The Iguana, owned by one of the most celebrated couples in history, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor (presumably named after The Night of the Iguana). There is a statue of veteran film stars embracing at the venue. Sally jokes that it’s her and Austen. They say that Elizabeth Taylor’s breasts were very large, similar to Sally’s breasts before the implants were removed. The group visits Liz and Dick’s bedroom, and Shep keeps asking if they banged in the tub. Liz and Dick are rolling in their graves.

Before dinner, Venita tells Sally that she misses her. She apologizes for going away. Sally wants the group to be more transparent, citing her issues with Charlie. She knows Charlie is hiding something, and she’s right. Charlie and Craig kiss, which is pretty typical by Southern Charm standards! But Charlie is proud of himself for standing up to Sally.

Shape’s Dinner Game

Shep suggests a dinner game (Madison is happy to miss out). Everyone should suggest some kind of New Year’s resolution to the person next to them. Shep starts by telling Charlie to be more autonomous. In return, Sally tells Shep that he doesn’t say please and thank you enough. He admits that he is a spoiled child.

When it’s Venita’s turn, since she’s sitting next to Austen, she says she wishes she would stand up for herself more. Whitner pointed to Craig, saying it was clearly a dig at him. An angry Craig says that Venita does not know him or know anything about the relationship with Austen. Venita believes that this is true. But at the same time, Craig and Austen have made their issues clear to everyone in this group with their continued public feuds and speaking openly about each other.

She continues to say that by the way Craig talks about Austen, it’s clear he doesn’t like her. Craig lashes out, “Venita, you don’t exist in my world, so fuck off.” I’m sorry, but this is incredibly rude. Yes, Venita took a dig at Craig. But Craig has a pattern of talking to women this way, and regardless of your feelings about Vanitas in particular, it’s nothing to ignore. The saying “You don’t exist in my world” also takes on a new meaning, as according to Ciara Miller, Craig was trying to get Vanitas out of filming. Well, that’s where this week’s dinner ends!
