welcome to recap summer house Season 10, Episode 5. Last week, things got complicated between Jesse and West when Jesse wanted to make a move on Ciara. Lindsay eventually traveled up to the Hamptons and began hooking up with Ben. However, she couldn’t tell if Ben liked her. And Amanda tells Kyle that she’s done blaming him for her troubles. But will Kyle really listen? That’s exactly what happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 5: “Summer Nights.”
What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 5?
Ciara learned that Jessie had asked West for permission to have a relationship with her, and she was not happy. When Jesse finally talked to Ciara about it, he clarified that it was not a joke, but did not clarify how he really felt about her. And a new love triangle was brewing between Dara, KJ and Ben. However, KJ takes the initiative and goes on several dates with Dara, much to Ben’s dismay.
Lindsay treats Ciara to “make-out” tea
Carl’s Renaissance Faire party began when Carl personally welcomed each cast member as they walked down the stairs in their costumes. Appropriately, Lindsay was dressed as a queen. And Ciara, as always, disguised herself as a rat carrying the bubonic plague and killed it.
Newbie Darius arrived, and Ben told West he was interested. So, I think we can solve any mystery as to whether Ben liked Lindsay or Bailey. And fortunately Darius was unmarried.
Dara revealed that she dated West for six months. She said, “West and I are pretty much over it, because I feel like nothing’s stuck. He just couldn’t send it all off… I’m not trying to get into it like telling a guy how to be a man. As long as you’re not falling in love with him, West is the best guy on Earth. So glad the flame has died down.” The mic dropped!
But it was not Ben who reached Darius first. Dara wandered over to KJ, who had completely forgotten that he had met her earlier at the singles bash. Still, Dara did not care.
Meanwhile, Lindsay could no longer afford to sit on the juicy gossip and got to work. She told Ciara that Jesse had asked West for permission to have a relationship with her. Ciara’s jaw was broken.
Amanda asked if Jesse was serious about hooking up with Ciara, or if he was joking by asking if it was okay. Lindsay said, “He was serious about asking, but the make-out would be a ‘joke make-out’.”
Ciara was shaken. She was angry at how non-serious Jessie and West were about it all. In her confessional she wondered, “What are you asking for permission for? Like, the only person who can give you permission is me.”
Bailey tried to flirt with West but failed
With the Renaissance theme in mind, Bailey decided he needed to pursue this opportunity. And that was learning to flirt. Amanda assigns him the task of trying out with West. Easy peasy, right?
Well, not so much. Bailey immediately said, “Weather, amirite?” “I think this is the hottest you’ve ever seen.” Amanda emerged from behind a bush and gave two thumbs up, but West was confused.
Bailey asked, “Are you excited? Because I’m excited.” “It’s great,” West stammered. Bailey realized it was a bust and explained that she was just trying to flirt. But the one person who had no problems in that department was Darius.
When Dara took KJ on a tour of the grounds, he had KJ in his palm. Then she ran up to Ben and asked, “How’s the party been so far? Better now?”
Later, Ben pulls Dara aside for a conversation. While everyone was watching and joking that it was The Bachelor all over again, KJ knew she had to step up her game. Looks like a love triangle was in the works!
It was time for duel then. Lindsay summoned the knights Jesse and West to face off, but it was like summoning two court jesters.
As soon as they “made out”, Ciara became upset and ran into her room, carrying Mia behind her. Ciara explained that she just wanted a best friend, not someone who wanted “surface-level shit.” She was concerned that Jesse only saw her as a “good-time girl”. And that was not his liveliness.
KJ gets clarity about Dara’s feelings for Ben
Mia had the honor of announcing that it was time for the guests to go home. After everyone leaves, Bailey sees Darius and Ben together and feels that her window of opportunity has disappeared.
As they left the party, Ciara ignored Jesse. In her confessional, Jessie said, “Goddammit. I can tell Ciara is upset. I’m hoping it’s not on me, but I’m afraid it is. I just feel like no matter what happens, I always mess up.”
Back in the city, KJ meets Dara for a date. It was a casual lunchtime drinks vibe and their chemistry was a sight to behold. Still, KJ was surprised. He thought that Darius was feeling Ben.
KJ said, “When I started to kind of get a feeling, like when you and Ben were talking, I thought, ‘Hey, I really like him.'”
Darius explained that he thought Ben was nice, but that was all. “I just want to clarify, because I think I’m not trying to make you feel like this is some kind of weird competition,” she said. KJ asked, “So you don’t like Ben?” Dara smiled and said, “No.”
Meanwhile, Ben meets Carl at a soft bar. Construction for their first location was almost complete. Carl had revealed the names of the people who had invested, and Ben noticed that Kyle’s name did not appear. This was a sad thing for Carl.
In his confessional, Karl revealed that he had invested in Loverboy when he did not have much money. But when it came time to invest in Soft Bar, Kyle “was in no position to invest.” Carl added, “The message it sends is a little confusing.”

KJ tells the guys going to the Hamptons about her date with Dara. They were surprised when KJ said that they went out for drinks and she came over for dinner the next night. Jesse asked, “And then what happened?” KJ said, “Hey, I went this morning.”
Ben’s eyes bulged out, but he gave his blessing. Jessie went, “Ooh!” But Jessie isn’t as thrilled when KJ tells him that Ciara was angry at him because she asked West if he could have sex with her.
At home, Levi and Bailey pulled an epic prank by dressing up as potted plants. As soon as they arrived, both of them pounced on everyone. We need more energy like this!
Then Jesse pulled Ciara aside for a conversation. She told him that she felt bad that he made her feel a certain way. Jesse thought he was doing the right thing by asking West for permission. Ciara said that he made her feel like “sexual triumph”. And she didn’t appreciate it by saying that their makeout would be like a joke.
Jesse denied that these were his intentions. Ciara said that the lines in their friendship were blurred. She said, “If you were really interested in me, you would ask for his permission to take me on a date…not just have sex with me.”
Ciara said, “I just want to be seen in this friendship. I think that’s the only thing, the main thing that I’m fighting for, you know?”
