Adela backs up Timothée Chalamet’s comments about ballet and opera: ‘He’s not wrong’
Adela supported Timothée Chalamet in his commentaries on ballet and opera. During her recent visit to the airport, a TMZ reporter asked her, “You used to be a ballerina, are you still one?” She replied, “Yes. I am, I do.” The reporter further asked him whether he had studied it or done it professionally. “I studied it when I was a kid, little one,” the “Superstar” singer said. The reporter then confronts him about Chalamet’s statements on ballet and opera.
However, Adela said, “I think people are probably blowing it out of proportion.” The 22-year-old said she hasn’t seen it, but she doesn’t think the “Dune 2” star “meant it that way.” He added, “He’s not wrong. (Ballet) is kind of a dying art.” Adela added, “It’s sad. If anything, they’ve just highlighted that… people should go to ballet more. Honestly, maybe it’s publicity.” The comments section was also filled with praise for the singer.
One user wrote, “ADÉLA’s approach is perfect – Timothy isn’t being ‘flashy’ for no reason. Ballet and opera are struggling to stay in the spotlight, and drawing attention to it even indirectly can really generate interest. Hype or not, it’s a reminder that these art forms need audiences to survive.” Another user said, “He’s right. This discussion is very stupid and full of people deliberately misinterpreting what he (given, poorly said) said.”
Speaking about Chalamet’s comments he said, “I don’t want to work in ballet or opera where it’s like, ‘Hey! Keep this thing alive, even if no one cares about it anymore.’ “With all due respect to the ballet and opera people… I only lost 14 cents in viewership. I’m taking shots for no reason,” the 30-year-old said.
