Rachel filed for divorce from her longtime husband, Roger Berman, in July 2025. The couple, who have two sons, were separated for some time. “At the end of the day, I can’t change anybody else,” Rachel previously explained on an episode of RHOBH. “And, ultimately, he didn’t want to be the person I was with for the first 25 years of our relationship.”
Rachel Zoe’s first call was to Jennifer Garner
Recently, Rachel was a guest on The Inside Edit with Maeve Reilly podcast. Of course, Rachel discussed her split with Roger. So, who was their first call to find a divorce lawyer? Rachel called actress Jennifer Garner. When Jennifer asked Rachel why she needed a name, Rachel explained, “And I just said, ‘And…and later.'”
Jennifer advised him to contact Laura Wasser. In fact, Laura represented Jennifer in her divorce from Ben Affleck. Jennifer and Ben separated in 2015. Nevertheless, the former couple has divorced amicably and often spend time as a family with their three children.
According to Rachel, Jennifer said, “‘You must be so tired.'” The RHOBH newbie added, “And I was really, really tired.” During an episode of RHOBH, Rachel revealed that Roger introduced his girlfriend to their sons. This led to a breakdown in understanding between the couple and they reportedly had to file for divorce.
Although their divorce is not final yet, it seems like the former couple is in a better place these days. Rachel previously said that she and Roger are living amicably “because ultimately we want what’s best for the kids, right?”
