sarah michelle gellar Will the new Buffy show be left on the cutting room floor. Earlier this month, Hulu decided not to move forward with Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale. Fans of the popular Buffy franchise are struggling to find anything about the pilot episode.
The show did not progress beyond the first episode before the project was shut down entirely. However, there are speculations about the script being leaked which has many people curious about it. However, Sara thinks that it is also a bad idea for that script or episode to go public.
Buffy actress hopes fans won’t watch pilot if it leaks
Speaking on Page Six’s P6 Radio, Sarah worried that “if the first episode leaks, everyone will have an opinion on this and that, and the pilot won’t get finished”.
Speculation is that the iconic character played by Sarah in the original series will barely make an appearance in the Buffy pilot episode. The show introduced a whole set of new characters for the new series, including a teenage murderer played by Ryan Kiera Armstrong. According to Sara, a version of the script that is being discussed online is not actually correct.
Ahead of the expected launch of the new series, Sara insisted that it is “not a reboot.” Last weekend, she took to her Instagram account to give fans the sad news that the new Buffy show was being shut down.
The original Buffy the Vampire Slayer ran for seven seasons, with several spinoffs being created. In 1999, Sara was named Choice Television Actress at the Teen Choice Awards for her portrayal of Buffy. She stars in the comedy horror Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, which will be released in theaters across the US on Friday.
