Chesterfield Township Police Detective Sergeant Joseph Feld Scott tells TMZ the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 21 Mile area near Detroit. Authorities alleged that Scott struck a parked car, although no injuries were reported.
Police have not publicly confirmed where Scott was driving or coming from at the time of the alleged crash. TMZ later reported that he had been released from custody by Thursday morning.
The timing of the arrest immediately raised questions as Scott appeared in court earlier this week in connection with a separate crash that occurred in February.
During Monday’s hearing, Scott pleaded no contest to alleged impaired driving and failure to report an accident. That first incident reportedly occurred while she was taking her teenage son, Parker, and several of his friends shopping.
Authorities claimed Scott struck a parked vehicle in his neighborhood before driving home instead of stopping at the scene. According to reports, after returning home she crashed into her own garage door.
Bodycam footage of the February incident reportedly shows officers administering breathalyzer tests, while bottles allegedly mixed with alcohol were also found inside the vehicle.
Scott was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after the crash.
His sentencing related to the February case is currently scheduled for June. However, it is unclear whether the latest arrest could affect the proceedings going forward.
Scott and Eminem (whose real name is Marshall Mathers) had one of the worst celebrity relationships of the early 2000s. The couple first married in 1999 and divorced two years later. They briefly reconciled and remarried in 2006, although the second marriage lasted only a few months.
The former couple have three children, including daughter Hailey Jade, who has since built a large public following of her own.
