Prince Harry addresses ‘past mistakes’ as he condemns anti-Semitism

Prince Harry is recalling one of the biggest scandals of his royal years by condemning the rise of anti-Semitism in Britain. In a new essay, Harry said Jewish families across Britain are left terrified after a series of violent incidents.

She also recounted the backlash she faced after wearing a Nazi costume to a party in 2005 when she was 20. The comments come as protests and tensions related to the Gaza war continue across Europe.

Prince Harry speaks out about his missteps fighting anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim hate

Prince Harry publishes essay in New Statesman (via). People), where he described recent anti-Semitic incidents as “deeply disturbing”. More than 4,000 anti-Semitism cases were reported in Britain last year, according to the Community Safety Trust. यह अब तक बताए गए सबसे ऊंचे आंकड़ों में से एक है।

“This should concern us, but it should also unite us,” Harry wrote. “Because hatred directed at people for who they are, or what they believe, is not antagonism. It is prejudice.” His statement was released as King Charles III visited Golders Green following a recent knife attack in the neighbourhood. During the visit, the king met with members of Jewish Care and local Jewish leaders.

Harry also reflected on the Nazi dress scandal which drew worldwide criticism almost two decades ago. “I am fully aware of my past mistakes – reckless actions for which I have apologized, taken responsibility and learned,” he wrote. For those unaware, in 2005, Harry attended a costume party wearing a Nazi uniform with a swastika armband.

The prince previously spoke about the incident in the Netflix series “Harry & Meghan.” The Duke of Sussex also later mentioned it in his memoir “Spare”. At the same time, he admitted that he was feeling embarrassed after the pictures became public.

Harry also said anger over the wars in Gaza and Lebanon should not turn into hatred towards religious communities. He said that both anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim hatred come from “the same well of division” and should be confronted equally.
