Ariana Grande slammed into white House ICE to use her song on the video. On Tuesday, the singer criticized the administration of US President Donald Trump on a TikTok post. The White House shared a video on social media platforms, showing a compilation of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers. From the caption to the content, the posts promoted Trump’s moves on immigration. Grande was not pleased with this and called it “heinous”.
Ariana Grande hits back at White House for using her song in ICE video on TikTok
Ariana Grande appeared to be upset after the White House used her song in an ICE video on TikTok. On June 9, a clip was posted on the social media pages of Donald Trump’s residence and workplace. In this, officers of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other agencies were seen arresting people. The caption reads, “Goodbye(!) President Trump delivers the most secure border in history.”
Additionally, the background score was Grande’s 2024 track, “Bye”, from the album “Eternal Sunshine”. The pop star must have noticed this post on Thursday. She replied in the comments section and looked angry. “Please never use my music in connection with this barbaric, inhumane, heinous bullshit. FC Ice,” the 32-year-old wrote. Since his response, the song on the clip has been muted.
This was not the first time that Trump’s administration promoted ICE arrests. Last December, the White House released a similar video using the song, “Juno,” from Sabrina Carpenter’s Grammy-winning album, “Short N’ Sweet.” Referring to the song’s lyrics, the post’s caption read, “Have you ever tried it? Bye.”
The singer commented, “This video is nasty and disgusting. Never use me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.” Additionally, the controversy escalated after White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson defended the content.
