The Microsoft founder has been in the headlines in recent weeks following the latest batch of Epstein files. The files also contained emails in which Jeffrey claimed to have arranged “sex with Russian girls” on Bill’s behalf. There was also a draft message that allegedly referenced a sexually transmitted disease linked to one of those encounters. The message included a discussion of giving antibiotics to Bill’s then-wife, Melinda French Gates.
There is no evidence that the emails mentioned were ever sent to Bill, and he has denied the allegations. Even being included in the files is not a sign of wrongdoing.
“I didn’t do anything illegal,” he said in a speech to employees this week. “I didn’t see anything illegal.”
Bill expressed regret over his past relationship with the late financier, saying, “Frankly, I never spent any time with the victims, the women around him.”
“Spending time with Epstein was a huge mistake,” he said, adding that he had brought Gates Foundation executives into meetings with the sex offender. “I apologize to other people who got involved because of my mistake.”
