Bill Maher talks about Donald Trump’s honesty

on their monday episode Club Random PodcastBill Maher praised Donald Trump’s “honesty” while responding to reporters. Speaking to his guest, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman. The TV host and political commentator gave reporters his thoughts on Trump’s past reactions, which he considered offensive.

Maher said, “There’s nothing psychologically normal about someone who vomits out his internal monologue, but it gives him an authenticity with people that probably no one else can compare to.” He added, “Honesty – as someone who loves honesty and I’ve made my career about it as much as possible – there’s some level of it where you tip your hat and say ‘Wow, complete honesty.'”

Trump has punished journalists on several occasions in the past. Recently, 60 Minutes correspondent, Norah O’Donnell, asked the President about his thoughts on the manifesto of White House Correspondents’ Association dinner gunman, Cole Thomas Allen, where he called Trump a “pedophile, rapist and traitor.”

Trump denied the allegations and said, “I was waiting for you to read this because I knew you would, because you are terrible people.” He chastised O’Donnell further and called him “disgraceful”. Referring to that incident, Maher said, “Her immediate reaction was, ‘You’re a terrible person.’ And he didn’t just think that.”

“Like any politician, that’s exactly what he’s thinking. He says it like that’s what’s on his mind,” she said, adding, “It’s horrifying at the same time, and it’s also kind of refreshing.” Fetterman agreed with Maher and noted Trump’s “authenticity,” citing another incident when the president told a Bloomberg reporter, “Shut up, piggy,” when she asked him about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
