The Foo Fighters will be short men for the early part of their upcoming tour. Following a freak accident in early 2026, guitarist Pat Smear will be out of commission for an undisclosed amount of time.
Pat will be missing in action due to gardening as the band prepares for their Take Cover Tour. The band described his injury online as one of several “freak gardening accidents” involving musicians. The 66-year-old man injured his leg in a gardening accident, which is similar to the rockstar’s dangerous hobby. In the 1984 mockumentary film Spinal Tap, the group’s drummer John Pepys is said to have died while gardening.

The Foo Fighters tour is just around the corner, but the group will have to carry on without Pat for now. on the band Instagram Page, they say Pat broke his left leg while gardening. It is said that many of his bones were broken as a result. They wish him well but say they want him to make a full recovery as soon as possible. The hilarious picture shows Pat giving her the middle finger as she takes to her garden.
While Pat recovers, the band calls on Jason Faulkner to take his place. Jason has previously played guitar for Beck and St. Vincent. The first show of their tour will be in Guanajuato, Mexico on Saturday. Four days later, the band would perform a benefit concert in Los Angeles on the same day that their lead singer Dave Grohl would celebrate his 57th birthday. In 2015, Dave was seen in photos partying with the cast of Vanderpump Rules.
This will be the 13th time the band will debut with their previous tour, Everything or Nothing at All, in 2024. During their illustrious run, the Foo Fighters have claimed to have won over a dozen Grammy Awards. In 2022, Medicine at Midnight was named Best Rock Album at the Grammys.
Their upcoming tour will conclude at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in late September.
