Former Prince Andrew, who was stripped of his remaining royal titles last year, was featured several times in the latest drop of files. It comes after years of scrutiny over his relationship with the convicted sex offender – although Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
Prince Edward speaks out after release of Epstein Files documents
On 3 February, at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Prince Edward was questioned about new files relating to his brother. Andrew’s name appears several hundred times in the latest files. A mention is made of invitations to Buckingham Palace ranging from the disgraced royal family to the late financier. There are also images of Andrew crouching on the floor over an unidentified young woman.
“I’m not sure the audience has the slightest interest in it,” he said. cnn Reporter. Although Edwards acknowledged that the people in the room had come to hear something else, he commented on the topic.
“They all came here to listen to education (and) find solutions for the future,” he said. Edwards then added, “(But) I think it’s really important to always remember the victims.”
“And who are the victims in all this?” He added that “there are a lot of victims in this.”
Edwards’ comments match those of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who also spoke on Andrew and the files. “Epstein’s victims must be the first priority,” he said on January 31. BBC. “Whether there should be an apology or not is Andrew’s business.”
The Prime Minister also mentioned ongoing calls for Andrew to testify at the inquiry into his former friend.
