Hayden Panettiere recently spoke out about rumors surrounding her baby “abandoning.” She appeared in an episode of Jay Shetty’s podcast, “On Purpose”. During a candid conversation, she mentioned the speculation that arose after she gave custody of her daughter Kaia to her former fiancé Wladimir Klitschko.
According to the host, reports at the time claimed she had abandoned her child. Clarifying the situation on a podcast, Panettiere criticized the reports. He said that the reality is far from the truth.
The actress said, “The idea that someone would think that I would give away my baby and it would be okay is heartbreaking.” Additionally, the 36-year-old revealed that she was “exploring” the past situation. She called herself a “mother lion” who “burned the world” for the sake of her child.
Panettiere revealed that the decision to hand over custody of Kaia to her former fiancé was “incredibly difficult.” However, she made it for the sake of the child’s future as she reportedly went to Europe for treatment. When she “recovered,” she thought “it would be unfair and selfish of me to try to take Kaya out of this life of hers.”
Additionally, the singer shared that she shares an “incredible relationship” with her daughter. Praising her daughter, Panettiere said the child “has two parents who love her.” He added, “She doesn’t feel abandoned in any way – and that’s something I’ve made sure to stay on top of and be very aware of.”
