M2M fans know that Contessa and Scott’s marriage has had its ups and downs. We saw Contessa file for legal separation in season 8, but they got back together in season 9. The next year, she filed for divorce but it was rejected after a few months.

“One of the things about reality shows is you can’t just put a pin on it,” Contessa said.

Contessa warned, “This leads to divorce, which almost happened to us.”
Of course, their relationship hasn’t been easy to portray on TV. For example, we learned in Season 12 that Scott never threw her a birthday party. This opened her up to a new round of scrutiny from her classmates and fans alike, but nonetheless, Contessa said her M2M experience has been helpful. Other reality stars should take notes.
“I think that’s one of the blessings of reality television,” Contessa said. “They make you solve issues.”
