I’m A Celeb star Kemi Rodgers has revealed the huge mistake she repeatedly made that almost gave away her secret engagement before she was ready to announce it. The presenter of spin-off show Unpacked made the happy news public over the weekend.
After Kemi posted the news on Instagram, a series of congratulatory messages flooded in. Following this, Kemi took to the platform again to share that she almost ruined the announcement.
In a post to her stories, she wrote over a black background: “Tysm for all your lovely kind words of congratulations! Grinning like a Cheshire Cat – so incredibly happy!

“Also it means I don’t have to keep deleting stories where I accidentally posted my ring before telling everyone.” It turns out, Kemi had been trying to keep her engagement under wraps and was therefore had to hide her ring whenever she was on camera.
It was only September when Kemi shared that she was in a relationship with ITV producer Thomas Hannett. But just months later, on 21 December, she shared that she and Thomas had gotten engaged. She uploaded a sweet post to the platform of her hand reaching out for a high five with her fiance, as her new ring glittered on her finger.
She also shared a picture where her hand was touching Thomas’ chest as he stared down at the ring, another where he was hugging her and the ring was still visible on her hand, and a fourth where he was kissing her hand.
Kemi captioned the post: “I said yes.” Several celebs jumped in the comments to congratulate her, including fellow Capital radio host Jordan North, who said: “Omg!! Congratulations guys.”
Sam Wright added: “Omg yesssssssss”. Will Manning also commented: “Go on guys. Congratulations you beauts.” Likewise, Tom Watts said: “Ahhhhh yesssss!!! Looove! Congrats you pair of total beauts.”
Kemi an Thomas were in Australia when the pics were taken. Kemi had gone down under as she was hosting Unpacked with Joel Dommett. During I’m A Celeb’s main series, the pair were joined by several former campmates to discuss how the celebs on the show were faring.
As it continued, they also spoke to celebs who had been eliminated, such as Kelly Brook, Vogue Williams, Jack Osbourne and Martin Kemp. Ultimately content creator Angry Ginge won the show.
