Jennifer Lawrence is taking a bold approach to power dressing for her latest cover shoot. The actress stars in a new cover feature for The Cut with an interview about entering a different chapter of her career. For a striking black and white portrait, Lawrence put a highly provocative spin on classic tailoring, posing topless beneath an open jacket.
Jennifer Lawrence poses topless under an open Schiaparelli jacket for The Cut
The 36-year-old posed topless beneath an open Schiaparelli Haute Couture jacket, leaving the dramatically structured piece completely naked. The look featured exaggerated sculptural detailing around the shoulders and neckline, framing her figure as the jacket was open at the front.
Jennifer Lawrence paired the statement Schiaparelli jacket with matching black pants worn low on her hips. A statement belt with an oversized metal buckle added another signature Schiaparelli touch to the otherwise monochromatic ensemble. Her blonde hair was styled in voluminous curls, while the black and white photography at the back focused solely on her dramatic silhouette.
The shoot was photographed by Bryce Anderson and styled by Jessica Willis. Jimmy Paul Miscovich handled Lawrence’s hair and Shayna Gould was behind her makeup.
The bold fashion moment came with a more reflective one main story. Lawrence discussed what she described as an “interesting change”, as she prepares to move into another field beyond acting. The Oscar winner is launching a hair-care company called Mace, developed with scientist Jasmina Aganovic. Its initial lineup includes a Repair Mask, Restoring Serum, and Volumizing Mist.
Lawrence also opened up about her longtime relationship with her hair, including the damage it suffered during her early years in Hollywood. Her experiences with repeated styling, coloring, and heat eventually helped spark her interest in developing hair products.
Still, it was Lawrence’s Schiaparelli style that provided one of the most eye-catching images of the shoot. Going topless under an open couture jacket transformed a traditional black pantsuit into a daring cover-up look that was anything but traditional.
