Jimmy Fallon mocks Donald Trump over Nobel Prize

Jimmy Fallon makes fun of Donald Trump

Jimmy Fallon turned his attention to President Donald Trump during Monday night’s Tonight Show. She used her monologue to criticize the president’s recent comments about the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado. Fallon was one of the few late-night hosts to air a new episode on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. He began by saying, “Today, President Trump said, ‘I think we can all agree that MLK would want me to receive his Nobel Peace Prize.'”

The host highlighted Trump’s claim that Machado had “offered” him the Nobel Peace Prize, and immediately questioned the claims. Fallon said, “When asked why he wanted Machado’s Nobel Prize, Trump said, ‘He offered it to me.’

After mentioning the US president’s diet, the late-night host jokingly highlighted the importance of the award to Trump. “It meant a lot to Trump. He hung it on the wall right next to his McDonald’s Customer of the Month plaque,” he said.

During the segment, Fallon explained that the Nobel Committee has made it clear that the award will remain with its original recipient. He used that explanation for another punchline, saying Trump responded by asking, “‘Wait, there’s prize money?'” The host also referenced Trump’s renewed discussion about Greenland.

Fallon wasn’t the only late-night host to reference Trump’s award. Jimmy Kimmel had earlier also taken a sharp dig on this.
