Kanye West makes surprise apology in Wall Street Journal full-page ad

Kanye West has surprised both his former and current fans by taking out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal addressing his history with anti-Semitism.

Titled “To Those I Hurt”, the rapper seeks to make amends with the Jewish community after the damage caused by his previous comments. In recent years, Kanye has accused Jewish people of being behind major sex scandals, such as the allegations against Diddy and the #MeToo movement. In an interview with Infowars he also called himself a Nazi and declared that he loved Hitler, and in 2025 he released a song called “Heil H*ttler”.

In the ad, Kanye blames a fatal car accident that occurred 25 years ago for his offensive remarks. He claims that the accident damaged his prefrontal cortex, resulting in “he lost touch with reality.”

Kanye continued, “The longer I ignored the problem, the worse things got. I said and did things that I deeply regret.” The musician said that the accident “doesn’t excuse what I did, though. I’m not a Nazi or anti-Semite. I love the Jewish people.”

Kanye’s anti-Semitic comments resulted in him being dropped by Adidas from its Yeezy fashion brand. His song “Heel H*ttler” was removed from most streaming platforms. He was also banned from Twitter in 2022, before Elon Musk restored his account following its acquisition.

Kanye apologized to the African-American community after years of divisive comments. Most famously, Kanye called 400 years of slavery a “choice.”

The rapper called the black community “undoubtedly the foundation of who I am.” He added, “I’m sorry to let you down. I love us.”

In a closing statement, Kanye promised to change his ways after years of battling controversy and falling from grace. “I am not seeking sympathy or a free pass, although I do wish to receive your apology,” he wrote. “I am writing today only to ask for your patience and understanding as I find my way home.”
