If you watched last night’s episode summer houseSo you’re probably wishing everyone a good morning but kyle cook. His marriage to Amanda Batula is falling apart before our eyes. But his behavior last night definitely crossed a line. And that line left Amanda feeling more frustrated than ever.
As Amanda defeatedly explained, she has “been dealing with this for over 10 years” now. Attempting to fix Kyle’s behavior will only “make things worse.” Thankfully, after their cameras malfunction, Kyle and Amanda put an end to their broken marriage. Season 10 will be their final season as a married couple in the Summer House.
Still, ahead of last night’s episode, Andy Cohen gave fans fair warning. This was Kyle’s “worst episode in ten seasons”, Andy teased, because he got to see these episodes before we did. But now, after seeing this mess, I have to agree. Here is what happened.
Kyle accuses Amanda Batula of not supporting him
Amanda always wanted a stable marriage with a reliable husband who prioritized his home life over club life. Still, Kyle yearns for the streets. So, instead of trying to meet Amanda in the middle of nowhere, he decided to attend the event as a late night DJ. Unconvinced, or maybe not, once he tried to show off his new talent to his housemates, everything started going rapidly downhill for Kyle.
Episode 8 features a boozy night out in the Hamptons with the Summer House stars. Once they returned home, DJ Kyle started making some tracks. But eventually, everyone, including Amanda, went outside to the hot tub, which Kyle hated. “She kind of betrayed me,” Kyle said in his talkative mind, “and right now, I don’t know how to explain how isolated and alone I feel because of my wife.”
So, Kyle went out with a Bluetooth speaker, seemingly bent on getting at least one DJ scene this week. But, comically, as soon as he did so, everyone went to their beds. Only, Kyle wasn’t laughing. Instead, he lashed out at Amanda for not being “supportive” and then, yelled, “F*ck you” and walked away.

Thankfully, many stars looked to Kyle after Amanda bashed him, but sadly his words didn’t ease his reactions. Later, when they were alone, Kyle came out once again. As their hot mic began, Kyle insulted Amanda in several ways, including the awkward comment “You’re so stupid.”
“Yeah, I’m a stupid bitch, Kyle,” Amanda replied dryly. Then she slept alone on the bed crying. Later, a sober Kyle appears in his confessional, trying to explain his behavior.
“You know, there’s no excuse for dropping the F-bomb and saying ‘F you’ to your wife,” Kyle admitted. “But, like, I’m only human. I can only take the cold shoulder for so long, you know, getting small-but-steady pokes. I used to think it was all in my mind, until I saw some of these summers.”
“Now I catch these jabs in real time. It doesn’t matter if we’re having a good night; I still get jabs. And it’s just piling up, and piling up, and piling up. It’s one thing if you’re in a funk, but if you’re having fun with everyone else except me, that’s just sad,” Kyle continued.
What was Amanda’s reaction to Kyle’s words?
When Kyle launched his first “F*ck you” at Amanda, his housemates’ eyes went wide. Trying to keep the peace, Amanda insists she’s “fine.” Amanda realized that nothing could help in this situation. Therefore, he encouraged everyone to fix this glitch.
“We’ll act like nothing happened and we’ll all celebrate Kyle’s birthday tomorrow,” Amanda instructed. “I don’t want it to become a thing.” But he had many other things to say in his confession.
“Literally, what’s the point of talking about it? It’s only going to make things worse. He won’t take accountability. He won’t apologize for what he did,” Amanda sighed.
But she also admitted that “It’s wrong, the way he talks to me. Like, I’m fully aware of it. I don’t agree with it. I just know that talking about it isn’t going to do any good,” she explained.
In an emotional conversation with West Wilson, who, no, she’s not currently dating, Amanda added, “I know I’m not perfect, but I’ve been dealing with this for literally over 10 years. Isn’t it crazy? Like, a part of me is like, this is the best I’m going to do.”
Amanda has since given up this way of thinking.
