On Instagram, Alex made a post on six different pages. In these pages, Alex reveals, “I’m autistic. I was recently diagnosed after going through an intensive assessment process. Sitting down and reading a 300-page report was the most surreal and strange experience of my life,” he admitted, so he “had to take some time to figure it all out.”
Alex continued, “I can’t explain how strange it is to be able to understand something I could never see.” And now, “I guess, I feel a little nervous, confused, and unsettled. Not because I think it’s a bad thing or even a good thing, it’s just a lot, you know?” But thankfully, this diagnosis has already provided many silver linings for Alex.
For example, “I can finally see and begin to understand why I am the way I am. I finally have all the pieces of the puzzle,” he joked, adding, “It only took 34 years.” Alex, poking fun at himself, wrote, “The hair dryer obsession makes sense now.” And then, he thanked his fans, his mother, and his doctors before leaving his followers with a final thought.
Finally, Alex wrote, “The greatest gift we can give ourselves is the gift of acceptance. And for that to happen, we need to know who we really are.” Congratulations, Alex, on opening another piece of your life’s puzzle!
