‘Love Island USA’s’ Chelley Bissainthe Regrets Making Breakup News Public | News

Chelley Bissainthe, one of the fan favorites from “Love Island USA” Season 7, regrets announcing her split from fellow islander Ace Greene publicly and is asking fans for “respect and kindness” as she and Greene move forward privately.

Bissainthe confirmed the breakup on Sirius XM’s “Page Six Radio” earlier this month, describing the breakup as mutual and “very hard” for the both of them.

In a follow-up thread on X, the reality star thanked fans for their support, but admitted she wished she’d handled the separation differently. “I’ve been sitting with a lot of feelings, and one of them is regret for speaking publicly about something so personal before I really gave myself the time and care it deserved,” she wrote. She added that breakups “should be worked through in real life, not online,” and said she’s choosing to “handle our relationship with more privacy and intention moving forward.”

Bissainthe and Greene, known as “Chellace,” coupled up on Season 7 and left the villa together on day 30. In her Page Six interview, Bissainthe said the decision to part was reached after “a lot of conversation” and that both parties agreed stepping away was “for the best.” She stressed the split came from careful, mutual reflection and asked followers to honor that privacy.

The reality of life after the villas has complicated public expectations, Bissainthe noted. Castmates and other former islanders have spoken about the pressure to share personal moments after the show airs, and that the appetite from fans often makes post-show boundaries hard to hold. Bissainthe echoed that tension, saying her priority is “peace, boundaries, and protecting what matters to me,” and she asked that “the hate and speculation stop.”

Fans are showing their support across social media as Bissainthe urges compassion over critique, writing that she “loves and cares” for Greene and hopes that people will allow them both the space to heal.

“Love Island” alumni routinely face a unique spotlight as millions watch a condensed courtship and then expect a play-by-play after the cameras are off. For now, Bissainthe said she’s stepping back, sharing intimate details of her life publicly and focusing on healing.
