After all, the first Wicked installment, which debuts in November 2024, earned 10 nominations. It won two Oscars for Best Costume Design and Best Production Design.
The sequel, Wicked: For Good, begins one year later in November 2025. Unfortunately, part two was completely rejected by the Academy.

The first installment’s 10 nominations include Best Picture, Best Actress for Cynthia Erivo and Best Supporting Actress for Ariana Grande. Of those 10, it won only two Oscars, one for Best Costume Design and the other for Best Production Design.
Although snubbed by the Oscars, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo both won Grammy Awards for the Wicked soundtrack earlier on February 1.
The upcoming 98th Academy Awards is scheduled to air on March 15 at 7PM ET on ABC and Hulu. Although he once threatened to quit, Conan O’Brien is set to host the show.
