According to royal author Omid Scobie, Harry tried to reconcile with his brother by reaching out to a “mediator” in 2023.
omid told us weekly While he was writing Endgame, he “spoke with people very close to Harry.”
“One of the things that was shared with me was that Harry had reached out to a mediator,” the author said. “(It was) kind of a mutual friend between him and his brother.”
The royal author continued, “[Harry]was hoping that this would give them a chance to have some kind of conversation together. Perhaps with someone present, or through whatever channel.” However, Omid said that William did not take his brother up on the offer.
“It didn’t happen,” he revealed. “It was not received in any way.”
To that end, Omid said a “stone wall still remains” between the formerly close brothers, who have not been seen together in public since August 2024. “Unless the attitudes of both sides change, we will never find a way to a solution,” he said.
After Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties, they left the UK and moved to California in the US. This didn’t help the rumor between the brothers, but it was reportedly made worse by the release of Harry’s memoir, Spare, in 2023. Among other claims, Harry wrote that William called Meghan “difficult” and “rude” during a visit to his home in 2019.
