While staying inside during the coronavirus pandemic, Robert was reaching out to get help. He admits that he has had a drug problem and has struggled to stay clean for years. Robert says he will go to 12-step meetings to make sure he never picks up that bad habit again. Currently, he serves as Donald Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services.
RFK Jr. used to snort cocaine from toilet seats

One of the least of RFK Jr.’s worries was COVID. The son of late Senator Robert F. Kennedy is sharing about a demon he has faced for a long time, cocaine. Speaking on Theo Vaughan’s podcast, This Past Weekend, the politician shared his struggle with drugs. “I used to snort cocaine off toilet seats,” he confessed.
Theo and RFK Jr. met during recovery meetings. The nephew of slain President John F. Kennedy says when the pandemic hit, he had to find a new way to get to meetings. According to him, at the same time a pirate group started its own personal meetings. This was because the rest of the world was operating virtually through social distancing.
Because of his addiction, he says he didn’t care what happened to him on the COVID front. He further said that at least he knew that if his cocaine addiction was not treated, he would lose his life. RFK Jr. has had a complicated relationship with his family over the years. When his second wife, Mary Richardson, committed suicide in 2012, some people pointed the finger at him. This year he was banned from the funeral of his cousin Tatiana Schlossberg. The environmental journalist died of myeloid leukemia last November.
Looking back at his addiction, RFK Jr. says it was about survival. He has been in recovery for 43 years.
