Shia LaBeouf has been arrested again in New Orleans, reports claim

Authorities arrested Shia LaBeouf on Saturday and charged him with an additional misdemeanor count of simple battery. The new charge is related to the same incident that occurred Feb. 17 at R Bar in the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood that led to his initial arrest, according to Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office records.

LaBeouf’s attorney Sarah Chervinsky said associated Press His client voluntarily surrendered after learning that New Orleans police had issued a new arrest warrant on Friday. “No regular person should be required to post a bond over $100,000 and go to jail two separate times for a misdemeanor crime,” Chervinsky said. “Just as he does not deserve preferential treatment, Mr. LaBeouf also does not deserve more harsh treatment by the police and courts simply because he is a public figure.”

The latest warrants bring the total number of alleged victims to three. Initial charges accused LaBeouf of punching one bartender multiple times and striking another in the face. Authorities also said he yelled homophobic slurs during the fight. The new charges allege he decapitated a third man.

Local entertainer Jeffrey Damnitt, identified in police reports as Jeffrey Klein, told the Associated Press that he was one of the people LaBeouf attacked that night. “He hit me, he punched me several times, he pushed me several times,” Damnitt said. He described LaBeouf as “just going crazy” and attempting to start fights while yelling homophobic slurs and threatening his life.

LaBeouf posted bond following Saturday’s hearing and was released after posting a $5,000 bond. He has not yet filed any petition in this matter.
