Spencer rose to fame on the MTV reality series The Hills, which ran from 2006 to 2010. It was here that he met his present wife, heidi montagAnd the couple is married since 2008. Most recently, Spencer, who identifies as a Republican, hopes to defeat current Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass in this year’s election.

Spencer sat down with conservative talk show hosts Fox and Friends To discuss his mayoral bid for the upcoming elections in June.
The former reality star said he was reluctant to enter politics, but felt he had to do it. “I never wanted to be mayor. I don’t want to be in politics,” Spencer said. He added, “I want to come back home to my family, attend local public schools, and live a normal life.”
However, due to Pacific Palisades dealing with the wildfires, Spencer decided to get involved. Spencer and Heidi’s family home, which they shared with their two children, was destroyed in the fire. He recalls escaping to safety and witnessing a devastating moment where he saw his son’s bed engulfed in flames.
“These people in charge should have resigned on January 7,” Spencer said, referring to the day of the fire. “I was waiting for someone to come forward and, you know, go after (the arsonists) and no one did.”
“So, I was like, OK, well, it’s my job to do this.”
Spencer blamed the mayor and California Governor Gavin Newsom for the level of destruction caused by the fire.
“Every picture I’ve ever seen has been burned and destroyed,” Spencer said. “Thanks to Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom, and all the photos of my parents were destroyed.”
