The two continued to have communication problems, with Kyle telling everyone except Amanda what was wrong with their relationship. However, Amanda finally clarified what her main issue was. And it had to do with Kyle’s drinking.
Amanda wants Kyle to “control his drinking habits”
Kyle and Amanda are going through a tough time this season. The two struggled to communicate, with Kyle opting instead to tell everyone and his mother what was wrong.
But for Amanda there were more issues than communication. During Season 10, Episode 3, Kyle wanted Amanda to have a conversation with him, but she wanted something else in return. And that was to “get his drinking under control.”
“Like, I want you to control your drinking,” Amanda told Kyle. She added, “I need to know that my husband is responsible enough to go out on his own and come back.”
Kyle claimed that his drinking was only social, but when Amanda found out he was out the previous weekend, she accused him. He said, “Yes, because I was in a terrible place. What don’t you understand? I told you over the summer that if we literally couldn’t get together physically, I would have a mental breakdown. What did I do? I had a mental breakdown.”
Amanda also discussed the constant DMs she was receiving saying she was up to no good. She told him that she had been hearing about “your drinking and rumors and coming home late.”
This unsettled Kyle. He said, “You know what I think is really the problem between us? Compatibility, chemistry, intimacy, I don’t know, common interests. What about that nonsense? Oh, it’s about my drinking? What about those days, weeks, months where you don’t ask me a single question? I don’t know now who I married.”
