Will Alecia Harris leave Below Deck Season 4?

sous chef alessia harris is back for another season of below deck below below. She’s still green, but has she improved between Seasons 3 and 4? Unfortunately, the answer seems to be ‘no’. And because of her failures, she is already trying to leave.

Only two episodes have aired, but Alessia’s white flag is still flying. Chef Ben Robinson’s galley is clearly stressed past his breaking point. But will she leave? Well, thanks to the hint to continue at the end of episode 2, fans had no idea, but in the final few moments, Alessia seemed pretty set with her decision.

However, during Season 3, Alessia served under Tsarina Mace-Ralph. Their communication skills were completely different, which created tension in their galley. Nevertheless, Alessia stayed until the end of the season, where she actually hooked up with Czarina during their final night in the city. So, if history repeats itself, this season 4 cliffhanger could really go in either direction.

When Season 3 began, Alessia was no longer part of the cast. But after the Tsarina’s first aide walked on the plank, Alesia arrived. Working in her favor, Alessia took the place of the person who had upset the Tzarina, so at least Alessia wasn’t the one. However, Alessia was a very inexperienced chef, as the Czarina quickly discovered.

Overall, Alessia presented like a “prep cook” and not a fully qualified chef. She could not master some of the tasks required of the Czarina, leading to conflict in her galley. And as the weeks went by, Alessia also began to tire of the Czarina’s moods. In general, whenever the Czarina was nearby, she felt as if she was “walking on eggshells”.

Not helping matters, Czarina also had a falling out with season 3 chief stew Lara Rigby. So, when Alessia started having problems with Czarina, she lashed out at Lara. Their friendship made Czarina feel like a strange woman, but Czarina eventually sat Alessia down and apologized.

Despite this, Alessia’s skills remained weak. But despite her tears and stress, Alessia stayed until the end of the season. And then, at the end of Season 3, she noted that she was “going to apply to culinary schools.” She also announced her ultimate goal to “be a head chef one day.”

Now, Alessia is back for season 4. However, in episode 1, she confessed that her season 3 goals were unsuccessful. “I’m probably having a bit of an identity crisis because (I didn’t go to culinary school),” she confessed while talking. That decision “was a huge mistake,” Alessia admitted.

As to why Alessia never pursued her culinary school dream after Season 3, she said that her “mom explained to[her]that cooking wasn’t her cup of tea.” So, she moved to Whistler, Canada for her ski season. And after that, Alessia “completely forgot to cook.” So, he is now on a “mission” to “consolidate his adult life” by learning everything he can in the galley.

But, unfortunately, due to lack of training, Alessia has already burnt her hand and ruined several dishes. She’s also struggling with basic concepts, like knowing which pan to use and cutting lemons into “medallions.” She even overfills Ben’s muffin tins, resulting in the leftovers being put in the trash can instead of the guests. And, like the Tsarina, Ben can get frustrated quickly, so his words are affecting Alessia so deeply that she is already ready to leave.

Will Alessia leave?

At the end of Episode 2, Alecia sat in the wheelhouse and told Captain Jason Chambers, “I’m doing my best, and I can tolerate it for a certain amount of time. But it’s been three days, and I’m losing my head. I’m really sorry, but I’m waving the white flag, and I can’t do it. … It would be a better boat if you had someone with better skills than me.”

So, will Alessia leave next week? According to the recently released sneak peek of episode 3, no, she won’t. To try to get Alessia back to what’s going on in her mind, Captain Jason will remind her that their boat is momentarily “understaffed.” But as his season progresses, “It’s really going to get better when (Ben) gets on top of things.”

Before this season, he further stressed, he believed Alessia was “learning a lot” in Ben’s lane, so he would be “very disappointed” if she left. Then, in the same reel, we see Alessia confront Ben, saying, “I love you, Ben, and I really respect you. But I don’t want to be here. I really hate it.”

In his confessional, Ben quipped, “She’s saying she respects me and at the same time she wants to quit. It feels terrible. I’m supposed to be a good boss and a good leader. And if someone’s going to quit because of me, that’s not good for me.”

Thankfully, both of them will be fine soon (for now).
