actor and comedian Will Arnett has revealed a shocking tidbit about a fellow comedian that ended with the artist lashing out over his Smartless podcast. The “BoJack Horseman” star detailed a deleted episode from his fan-favorite podcast in a recent interview. He said this included the hosts dismissing a high-profile guest because of his obnoxious behaviour.
During his appearance on January 26 Romesh Ranganathan ShowThe 55-year-old actor revealed he recently asked a “very famous comedian” to leave the Smartless podcast he co-hosts with Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman after enduring his offensive antics.
Will Arnett described the comic as “f—ing rank a-hole”. Arnett said that he, Hayes and Bateman “hung him up after 10 minutes and said, ‘Thank you very much,’ and left him.” Arnett remained coy about revealing the identity of the comedian on camera. But, he admitted to Ranganathan that he would tell the British comic about the eliminated guest later. Still, the Primetime Emmy-nominated actor dropped a little hint about who the comedian was. He said, “You’ll be amazed to see who it is. Because you’ll be like, ‘How did you get Bill Cosby!'”
Arnett talked about another deleted Smartless episode during the podcast. “We had a guest, a comedian, and she asked us not to air her episode,” he revealed. The veteran voice actor said he avoided taking the female comic’s request lightly because filming every episode of his podcast “costs us money.”
However, the comedian had insisted on his episode not being aired. She said this was “because she thought she was rising” and that she feared that if netizens took her quotes out of context, it could jeopardize her career.
While Will Arnett and his co-hosts tried to reassure the female comedian, they ultimately agreed to her request. Once again, the actor decided not to reveal the identity of the artist. Arnett said he wouldn’t do it unless we were completely cut off.
