At the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opening night, Kim Kardashian stunned in a vintage high-neck sequin gown. The piece was from YSL’s Fall/Winter 2004 collection, the last for the house under Tom Ford. Glittering black sequins on the floor-length, sleeveless gown caught the spotlight from every angle. Designed like a cheongsam, it featured a high mandarin collar with a plunging, keyhole cutout at the chest.
Light pastel trim framed the collar, armhole and keyhole edges, creating a sophisticated contrast against the darker fabric. Intricate embroidery and metallic sequins in shades of gold, rose and cream formed traditional motifs such as fish, waves and floral spheres along the lower hemline. The dress was skin-tight up to the hips before falling straight to the floor in a high-slit skirt. Celine Dion wore the same gown to the 2004 World Music Awards, paired with nude strappy heels.
Styled by Law Roach, Kardashian paired the dress with metallic gold platform high heels. The shoes complemented the gold embroidery on her dress while also elongating her frame. Her hair and makeup exuded sleek beauty with refined precision. Her black hair was pulled back and a few strands were loose. Additionally, a greasy strand of hair stuck to the right side of his face.
Her makeup included smoky brown eyeshadow, black eyeliner, contoured cheekbones and a glossy nude lip. For jewellery, she wore bold, starburst-shaped diamond cluster earrings that cascaded down, adding an extra touch of glamor to the high-collar neckline.
