anne hecheA property dispute has taken another turn as Lynn Mitchell challenges how the late actress’s son handles her finances. Michele, who rented the house hit by Heche’s car, says property records leave key questions unanswered. His legal team has raised concerns about assets missing from the accounting. The controversy now brings jewelery and finance under fresh scrutiny.

Anne Heche’s accident victim questions Homer Laffoon about 10 engagement rings and estate finances

According to the documents received by tmzMichele objected to the first accounting of her mother’s estate by Homer Heche Laffoon. His lawyers say the two sides have reached an agreement in principle on his $2 million creditor claim, but Homer has stalled the probate process.

They argue that there are conflicting figures in their accounting. One section lists approximately $350,000 in available assets, while another section shows $514,741.09 in total assets and $141,658.79 in cash.

Mitchell’s team also wants answers about 10 engagement rings Heche received from former partner James Tupper during their decade-long relationship. Lawyers question whether the assets include benefits or pension payments from SAG-AFTRA.

They also challenge $11,300 in storage fees and an unpaid $8,725 IOU for which Tupper allegedly owes the estate. Additionally, they also raise concerns about whether Homer mixed money from his personal bank account with money from the estate.

Michele wants the probate judge to reject Homer’s accounting and demands him to provide the relevant bank records. The filing follows his earlier dispute over claims that the parties had settled his lawsuit.

Michele had previously accepted an agreement in principle but said the parties could not finalize it because Homer had not provided certain documents. She is seeking compensation for property damage and emotional distress caused by the accident and fire.

Heche died in August 2022 after suffering injuries in an accident that caused a fire at Mitchell’s Los Angeles rented home. The latest filing adds another development to the ongoing property dispute. The court hearing is scheduled for December 1.
