LOS ANGELES, California — Amaya Espinal, who won the most recent season of the reality show “Love Island USA,” underwent emergency surgery last weekend after being rushed to a hospital.
TMZ reports Espinal, 26, was taken to the hospital after experiencing severe abdominal pain. Espinal remains in a hospital in stable condition, People magazine reports.
It’s unclear what caused Espinal’s medical emergency, TMZ reports. She had been filming “Beyond the Villa,” a spinoff of “Love Island,” but is not expected to return to work for the rest of the year.
Espinal shared a photo Wednesday on her Instagram Stories of a bouquet of flowers sent by ITV America.
Before her victory on “Love Island,” Espinal was a nurse and a social media influencer, Blavity reports.
