Episode 2 of the Ladies of London reboot wasted no time in getting straight into the drama. But viewers also got a chance to get to know their new classmates on a deeper level. Martha confides in a friend about her ordeal with a stalker, and Meese sheds tears while talking to her therapist about her “toxic” ex. The episode ended with an explosive dinner party… in which one woman called it quits and stormed out of the friendship group.

After the bombshell dropped by Maika in episode 1 (ie, Dara thinks Maika is “clingy” and a “crunch”), Maika continues to talk about how much she loves her bestie. Foreshadowing, much?

“I rely on my friends in London more than the average person because they are my family,” she said. “For me, friendship is everything. If I don’t have lifelong friendship, if I don’t have Dara, then who do I have?”

“Emma and I are not friends… we’re twins,” Mark-Francis said lovingly of his best friend Emma during afternoon tea in London’s fabulous Sketch. “Somehow we’re always thinking about the same thing.”

“I always say I’m Prosecco and she’s Champagne,” Emma said of their sweet friendship. They first met more than a decade ago while on vacation in glamorous St. Tropez.

Over tea and finger sandwiches (how British!?), the pair were joined by Kimmy to catch up. Naturally, talk soon turned to Mark-Francis’ party drama from Episode 1. Enter: Madam Rumor… again.

“The tea is spilling,” Emma squinted, to which Kimmy replied, “Shut up, Emma, it’s funny.” In her confessional, Emma admitted that “of course” she loves to gossip – don’t we all? – But does not feel comfortable with the allegations against Dara. “The less I know about it, the better.”

In Martha’s cottage (her words, not mine), she talks openly about the difficult years she has gone through. “It was a real ego death,” she said of her marriage that recently fell apart. That relationship left Martha with her female title and “nothing else.” In an emotional statement, Martha then recalled how she was terrorized by a stalker who forced her to leave her home for her “mental safety”.

Now entering a new chapter of her life, Martha gives viewers a tour of her home, which is possibly worse for wear… and covered in magpie poop. Intending to paint all the walls pink and “cover them with cherubs”, she explained in detail the elaborate pink palace she wanted to bring to life. When can I move in?

Mise confronts Dara

After telling his castmates – and the audience – in Episode 1 that “there’s another side to Dara that’s not honest,” Mese decides to confront the architect at a dinner party held at London’s Ivy Asia.

“I just hope that Dara apologizes and moves on,” Missy said of her intentions to attend the dinner. “Old Missy will definitely keep her mouth shut, but I closed a chapter of my life that was filled with lies and deception, and I made a promise that moving forward, I don’t want that.” Fireworks at the dinner table in three, two, one.

Misha plunges straight into drama in front of all of Dara’s dinner guests, leaving Maika completely shocked by the betrayal. “Maika is my sister,” replied Dara, clearly in a state of complete denial, denial, denial.

The women interrupted the conversation for a while, but after Missy and Lottie left for a bathroom break, things got heated again.

After apologizing for “checking the food” from her own dinner party, Dara tells a producer she doesn’t think she’s ready to do the show. “I said those things (about Maika),” he admitted.

Back at the table, the rest of the women (as well as Mark-Francis) continued discussing the drama. With Dara absent, her friend Moira comes to her defense, leading to an argument with Mise. As the women began to brawl, the server tried to awkwardly place plates of sushi on the table (just below deck code), then Darius returned. She decided to stick to her party line, despite confessing to producers some time ago that she had not said “those things” about Maika at all.

However, Darius’s refusal did little to convince the group. Kimmy branded her a “two-faced little girl”, while Margo demanded a lie-detector test. She who protests too much?

Visibly nervous and, somewhat seething, Maika tells the group that she is “hurt” by what happened. “I’m a little shocked, like, he’s my best friend.” Then things went from zero to 100 when Dara announced to the entire table that she “probably needs to quit this TV show.”

This did not diminish his love for his classmates. “Just go away,” Mark-Francis said in an audacious admission, “you’ve already been cut.” Ouch!

Episode 2 ended with a producer’s note confirming Dara’s decision to “leave the friend group”. With dropouts so early in the season, who knows what drama will come next!

Women of London: The New Regime Continues Thursday nights at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo. It flows on the peacock.

Tell us – what did you think of the Ladies of London: The New Reagan episode? And, are you surprised that Dara left the film after only two episodes?
