Jane Shah cried in her first interview after being released from jail

After spending 33 months behind bars, jen shah The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is ready to start a new chapter.

Bravo fans have been following her case since the moment the FBI appeared on Beauty Lab + Laser, but in her first interview since being released from prison, she’s opening up about her path to a guilty plea. Apparently, there’s more to the story than what we’ve seen in the headlines, and she broke down in tears while talking about it all.

Former RHOSLC star says she’s “more than just headlines”

On Bravo, we watched Jen scream, “I’m innocent,” until she pleaded guilty. These days she is singing a very different tune. In a new interview with People, it looks like she may have learned her lesson.

“I was wrong,” Jane admitted. “I made bad decisions.”

She added, “I should have done things differently. I should have been more diligent. And I deeply regret and regret my actions and my part. I take full responsibility.”

With that being said, Jen also claimed that she was not fully aware that her “business” was headed towards darkness. She said she trusted the wrong people and ignored some “red flags” along with her co-defendant Stuart Smith.

“I thought I was doing the right thing most of the time,” Jane said. “I was working under the people who were running these companies.”

Later in the interview, Jen cried while discussing the support she has received from her family. She said that despite going through a difficult period just before her indictment, her marriage to coach Sharif Shah is stronger than ever after being jailed.

Jane said, “Most people would have escaped. Most people would be gone. Most of the people I was imprisoned with, very few, did they have their families still intact.”

“But I had that,” Jane continued. “And so that’s one of the things that I’m very grateful and blessed for — that my husband and my kids were there for me.”

While Jen is thinking about her future, Andy Cohen has made it clear that Bravo has no interest in bringing her back to RHOSLC. However, he is still yearning for a second chance at life. While behind bars, she earned personal training and nutrition certifications.

Jen said, “I understand that people have their own opinions based on what they see, but I hope they will at least do me the favor of listening to me and understanding that I am more than just a headline.”

Jane will remain confined to the house until August and focus on making things right with the victims affected by her schemes. She is owed $6.6 million in compensation, and says it is her “mission” to make sure everyone gets their money back.
