prince harry is reportedly not happy with meghan markle’s Instagram post celebrating Princess Lilibet’s fifth birthday.
One royal expert said the move could be seen as “clickbait” and was contrary to her strict protection of her children from public scrutiny.
A royal insider shares that Prince Harry may be internally upset over Meghan Markle’s recent birthday post featuring Lilibet
A recent post by the Duchess of Sussex, revealing two snapshots including Princess Lilibet, may lead to public speculation about whether Prince Harry agrees with the decision to put his daughter in the spotlight.
Prince Harry’s concerns about privacy are deeply rooted in the fate of his mother, Princess Diana, whose life was constantly scrutinized by the media before her death in a Paris car crash while being pursued by paparazzi in 1997.
Prince has given several indications in his memoir ‘Spare’ and subsequent interviews that he would want his children to have a different upbringing than what he had to endure as a child. Referring to his mother’s tragic death, the father of two is heard saying, “My deepest fear is history repeating itself.”
Interestingly, his wife Meghan Markle has also been vocal about the dangers of social media. In fact, one of the reasons cited for the couple leaving their royal duties in 2020 was the need for privacy and control over the narrative surrounding them.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe has predicted that the change in narrative could indicate a rift between the couple and that the prince may be seething with anger. “I’m sure her accusers will say she is exploiting (children). Lecturing about children’s privacy but then posting about her own children as clickbait,” he said.
This post can be considered a serious violation of the couple’s united stand in protecting their children from media intrusion.
